Daniel Farke Pleased with Leeds United’s Performance in QPR Victory
Leeds United continued their strong form at Elland Road on Saturday, securing a convincing 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship. The win marked their fifth consecutive home victory and helped maintain their push toward the top of the league standings.
The match saw Jayden Bogle open the scoring in the first half, with Joel Piroe sealing the win with a goal in the final moments of the second half. In addition to the three points, Leeds earned their ninth clean sheet of the season, further solidifying their defensive strength.
After the final whistle, head coach Daniel Farke reflected on the performance and expressed his satisfaction with the team’s effort.
Farke’s Reaction to the Win
“I’m just happy with the win and I have to give many, many compliments to my lads,” Farke said. “The load at the moment is incredible, especially with so many key players still out or suspended. To deliver such a performance and such a convincing win, in the third game within seven days, especially after a loss, makes me very happy.”
Despite acknowledging that the loss to Millwall earlier in the week was tough for morale, Farke praised his team for bouncing back. “It’s never easy to respond after a loss,” he admitted. “Although it wasn’t a bad performance against Millwall, a loss always affects confidence, and it’s not always easy to get back to winning ways. But today, we did exactly that.”
Team Effort and Areas for Improvement
While pleased with the result, Farke made it clear that there were still areas for improvement. “I’m very happy with the performance, very happy with the win, very happy with the clean sheet, and with the three points,” he said. “But even after this game today, we’ll speak about a few situations where we could have done better.”
Farke highlighted that Leeds could improve their decision-making in the final third, saying, “It’s about using our chances and playing the final pass better. There were also a few unnecessary mistakes where we invited the opponent onto us, and we’ll address that.”
Despite these points for improvement, the Leeds boss was optimistic about the performance. “I won’t let the standard drop, but I was really pleased with our game today, and really happy with the result,” Farke concluded.
The victory leaves Leeds in a strong position as they continue their Championship campaign, with Farke’s squad showing resilience and depth in the face of adversity. The Whites will be looking to maintain their momentum as they head into the next fixture, aiming to extend their winning run.
