Injury Woes Continue for Leeds United

As they gear up to take on Sunderland in the Championship this Friday, Leeds United may be buoyed by some good news as regards the availability of players. According to manager Daniel Farke, a player of ‘quality’ likely to be a key figure in the team currently beset by injuries may soon be fit again.

And now, Ilia Gruev, a midfielder, is another injury risk to the team that already has Dan James, Manor Solomon, Max Wober, Ethan Ampadu, and Isaac Schmidt out. With very young players like Charlie Crew, James Debayo, and Sam Chambers coming in, Farke has problems in midfield and at the back.

Before the game at Stadium Light, Farke commented on Sunderland’s good form more so that they are yet to lose at home. “They have really good shape and are dangerous on the counter-attack,” he said.

All in all, although Leeds are in the middle of an almighty injury crisis, there is at least one of the key players rebuilt that gives them some optimism in their quest for a much-needed victory against a stern looking opponent.
