Leeds United Eyeing World Cup Winner as Injury Crisis Deepens
It seems rather unlikely that Leeds United will be able to get Christoph Kramer on board, as he is most likely going to turn down their interest in him to stay in Germany. Considering that his caliber could have helped in the team right now looking at the injuries of key players like the Illia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu who is out for the next 10 weeks.
With Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka in the midfield, Daniel Farke the manager is under a lot of stress to come up with a quick fix in the midfield. At first, they dismissed the idea of signing free agents, but given the current situation there are chances Leeds may be compelled to do so.
This situation as at now where the club thinks is okay to have only two-thirds of the senior midfielders is impractical moreso bearing in mind the busy season that is the championship. In the most recent game which ended 2-2 against Sunderland, there were worries on the competitiveness of the squad with their promotion opponents which raises questions of how they would upkeep the pace.
The club now finds itself in an uncomfortable situation as it would have benefitted from Kramer’s vast knowledge of the Bundesliga which would have added depth in the squad. With the injury crisis more pronounced, Leeds United must be proactive and find reinforcements for its midfield otherwise, it risks falling off the pace in the promotion race.
