Leeds United Eyes Promising Defender Amidst Growing Competition
Leeds United are said to be interested in Joyskim Dawa, a 28-year-old FCSB defender who has attracted interest from English clubs such as Leicester City, Everton, and Fulham. As reported by The Mirror, Dawa’s talents were on display when FCSB played PAOK, and scouts from different teams came to watch him in it.
Dawa’s agents met with Fulham last week, suggesting the latter’s priority status in securing Dawa. FCSB has also placed a release clause with a reasonable fee of £4 million, and they have clearly stated that they will not prevent the defender from leaving if such an amount is offered making him very appealing for interested parties.
Dawa has played more than a hundred matches for FC Steaua Bucharest has scored eleven goals and provided two assists and has proven to be a good defender with great jumping abilities. His level of consistency naturally brings interest in him in the transfer market.
But for Leeds United, time will be of the essence if they want Dawa and want to go ahead of the pack. While looking to improve on their backline, the club needs to look at the costs involved and the timeframe within which the transfer can be concluded. With the interest building up, the next couple of weeks might be very critical in deciding the fate of Dawa and the defensive setup of Leeds.
